I'm not having much luck with my ACE 250. I'm finding little things but having questions about what setting to have it at when you are first learning.

Does gold come up under a metal setting or more of a foil?

I know the machine LOVES coins and sings like a bird. I'm afraid I'm passing over things I shouldn't.

Thank you for the help!

Sincerely,
Kim

turn your disc way down and don't ignore a foil signal or you may skip gold! I found an earring today that sounded off as null (basically the "Hum" stopped) on my machine which is a Whites Beach Hunter. My machine does this on what it "thinks" is junk but it showed as gold/aluminum so I dug it anyway and it was an earring! Dig anything that doesn't show as iron!(dig iron too if you are relic hunting!) Good Hunting! omnicognic 8)

The easiest thing to do with the ACE is just to set the machine on "jewelry" mode and start swinging. Along your top scale it shows the general gold range so be sure to dig anything that is giving a signal in that range. Foil is out of the gold range but really small or thin items of gold may ring up under that icon, so be alert. Only coins, aluminum or non ferrous metals will soiund off with the bell tone. The others will just be a lower pitched "beep". If you're looking for gold pay special attention to them and expect to dig a lot of junk. JIM
