I live in East Tennessee , and the closest CW battle i have heard about was called " The battle of BlueSprings "
i have been googling for a couple hours and finding the same lead and stories over and over , what i would like is a original map showing battle areas to try and match up with local maps and see about doing a little metal detecting in the area with my son.
from what i have read the main battle took place October 10 1863 , but there was a few skirmishs before , 316 people died . i think i should be able to find some items if i can find the area , this is the stuff my son ( age 13 ) talks about , finding old bullets or buttons ect,,,
i have read there was a book published in 1997 with a few maps but again i can not find a copy or a way to see the maps. the book is called
"Blue Springs: A History of the Desperate Battles at Blue Springs for the Control of Upper East Tennessee During the Civil War "
any tips , or if any of you guys may have battle maps of east tenn which may have these on it , i would appreciate any help in any way .
Thanks .
