After leaving a tot lot I was on my way home when I past a house that had all the grass removed with a tractor. I stopped and talked to the owner who gave me the go ahead to detect. All the grass was removed down to the "sand fill"? I got all kinds of readings on my ace 250 but came up with only big pieces of discarded scrap. I started to detect the mound of grass and dirt which is about 3feet high by 4 feet wide by 6 feet long. The first swing I got a clad penny from the top. Before I could get really serious about the pile my wife called me and I had to leave. I plan on hitting the yard again this evening. Should I concentrate on just the mound? My time is limited because the new turf will be in on Monday. The backyard is in the same condition as the front and the house is down the road from an old school dating to 1894. What do yall think?
any help please.

I would try to hit it all! I'm having a hard time at an 1890's homesite, where the owners have hauled in dirt to level the ground out. Lots of trash in the fill dirt.

I'd focus on the yard as you can always hunt the pile after the sod is laid... There is nothing like hunting a spot where the layer of pop tabs were already removed for you...

Good luck rebelinmass...
