Since you are used to the way the Excal works, a new Excal II would be the way to go. But you already know this. I enjoy learning new detectors, the reason I have so many and have used many more. The Fisher CZ21 would be nice. I have the CZ20 and like it a lot but just worry about the cost of repairs from the new owners.

Course you could go all out and get a Garrett Infinium LS. It is a PI and does give a two tone sound for an ID with the same sound for gold rings as pull tabs and such. Iron gives a different two tones so you can skip the bobby pins. But is can get confused with a piece of iron near a coin or ring and give different set of tones depending on the direction of the sweep. Hey, ya didn't think it would be easy did ya?

What ever you get I hope you have good luck.

I like the Excal I just did a buddy a favor and the deal worked out where he got an excal I got new detector ,,don't know what it will be yet ,,, and nobody lost any money ,,, good deal for all we all Won. Guzz1

Hey Guzz1,

You where doing great with the Excal!! stick with it. get yourself the Excall II and keep hitting those gold rings.

Good luck.

Yea your probably right Goio, if ain't broke why fix it , only problem I have now is the admiral just informed me She went 700.00 over budget . There go's the ol ball game for my a$$. Wipe me out clean, have to wait till uncle SAM sends me my refund ,, few weeks anyway . oh well I still have the sovereign Gt , it never has failed me yet . i"m gonna be ankle deep and looking for -tides for while ,, So much for that 20.00 wet suit,, Guzz1

Hey Guzz1,

Time to cash in some of those gold rings.

Good luck buddy!

I bet the 9.9 Gold nugget diamond ring would bring some cash. Thats a thought ..Guzz1 ;D ;D ;D

Radio Shack detectors are good. Can't go wrong with one of those.

Yeah......radio shack....didn't you waterproof one once?......I heard that that is what made you famous !!
Do ya have a Forida straight shaft that would fit one of those?? ;D ;D ;D

Understanding that everybody's saying Excal and Infinium....Is there a reason the Sand Shark is left out??
I'm looking at buying my first shallow diving/fresh+salt beach detector and in a "dig everything" mode, is the SS just not worth the money? for what reasons?
Am I going to get that much more depth, reliability for the 4 or $500 extra???
Unlike a hooker on a honeymoon, I don't have a problem committing for a few extra inches for a few bucks more.

I have used a lot of different water detectors. I like the Excalabur the best. It is very reliable. I have 2 fisher 1280,s. They are ok but too many times I have changed batterys and found the compartment half full of muddy water. That sucks. It is always on my mind when I use them. Mike.

Gary, check your answering service.

HEy  Mike  looks  like  my  budget  got  cut in half  by the  admiral  ,,I gonna  go  with  the  sandshark for  now  I hear they  do  a  nice  job  a  hunting,,, I  order  next  week,,, Guzz1

Hey James You'll be happy to know I went with the sandshark. sounds like a great MD and it was in my budget..,, I'll just have to get use to a Pi again ,,no problem,,,, Guzz1

Awesome! Looking forward to seeing your finds! I am sure you will get used to that machine in no time at all! :D

YEA you might be right , But I can always buy another one if I start missing to much. Spring breakers will be here in a week so Sandshark will have to do till uncle Sam sends the big refund,, I have used pi machines before , a whites surfmaster PI. Who knows I might really like the sandshark , I won't know till I get in the water with it . There's a guy up in the Jersey shores, knocking it out of park with his Sandshark has found a lot rings and gold with his . But I got to say ,,The excal is one hell of a detector no doubt.. I am a huge Minelab Fan, I own a sov GT and I love it ,, I find more big tickets with it. than the excal,, I let you know how it works out ,, HH Guzz1

Guzz1, I have never owned a sandshark, but I do have an old Whites Pi 1000. I have not used it in years. It was my 1st real water detector. It went down to extreme depths. The sens. on gold was fair and it eats up batterys in 6 hours. I did get a lot of good deeeeeep targets. I'm sure the newer PI,s are a lot better on gold. Good luck. Mike.
