FOUND THIS A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO, LISTED IT AS A JESUIT MEDAL. NOW I'M NOT SURE. I'M IN THE RIGHT TIME FOR THIS VILLAGE 1675-1685. THERE WAS A HEAVY PRESENCE OF THE JESUIT'S TRYING TO CONVERT THE SENECA TO CHRISTIANITY RELIGION. I'VE BEEN HERE BEFORE AND PULLED SOME GREAT JESUIT RINGS. COULD THIS BE PART OF A PRIEST JEWLERY OR A CONVERT REWARD? ANY HELP OR PICTURES WOULD BE GREATLY APPREICATED!

I know very little about the Jesuits but I doubt they would have used a block letter 'J' as a trinket for converts during that time period.

There is a lot of debate about the letter J and when it became commonplace.

Also consider the font style of the letter on the relic. Again, there is much debate on the use of serifs during the period you mention.

Interesting, It looks as though it sits "in" a box.. I have this childs block J with the same font.. Late 1800's to early 1900's .. similar in size, stood for Julia anna child block.webp Not sure about it being a Jesuit crusader award..Most of the ones I have seen are round and have alot of picture detail..
