Was wondering if anyone could give me a few movie ideas where the whole plot is based on 18th/19th century. I.e. "An American Haunting" was based on a 1848 time plot. However, I had too stop the movie half way in due too the kids getting pretty scared but it is a very good insight on that time period like clothing,etc... I Already know probably all the War movies dating too that time period but if there is any good movie you like based on those time periods if you could name a few or one! Thanks

The Alamo-latest versiom
Song of the South(Disney-Uncle Remus) reconstruction
Tom sawyer
Huckleberry Finn
Tombstone
Gone With The Wind

The last of the Mohicans
Master and commander (The far side of the world)
Black robe
The mission
The patriot
Jeremiah Johnson
Little big man
Dances with wolves
Pirates of the Caribbean
The north and the south
The blue and the grey
Rob Roy
Captain Horatio Hornblower
At least 10 Clint Eastwood westerns
This is just off the top of my head but I’m sure if you Google pirate or western movies you’ll find tons.
I know I’ve seen many civil/rev war movies and mountain men type movies but can’t recall the titles.
Cheers,
Dave.

Cold Mountain is a very good movie set during the Civil War.
