Need a good book

If you are lucky enough to find a copy, Sunken Treasure: How to Find It by Robert Marx is one of the best ever written on the subject.

Thanks! I'll check it out. I remember a friend of mine reading a book about the salvage of the Edinburg. I'll see if I can find that too...

Here's a great book about one of the greatest treasures ever salvaged, from incredible depth.:icon_thumright:

Already read that one too... I've read most of the mainstream stuff, looking for something a little more obscure. I just finished a great book, Treasure Diver: Diving for Gold on North America's Death Coast. I highly recommend it. Written by Robert MacKinnon.

More obscure, sure: How about "The Sinking of the Princess Sophia--Taking the North Down with Her" by Ken Coates and Bill Morrison. This was the largest loss of life wreck known to have occurred on the West Coast of No. American--yet I'll bet not one in 100 ever heard of her, even fewer have read the book--which is well worth it (lively, informative and thought-provoking).
Don.....

Thanks Guys! A friend of mine actually dove the Princess Sophia for about a week. I saw a presentation on his trip, it was awesome. I'll check out both books, thanks again!

Darren, I just got my copy of Gold Finder. I can't wait to read it!

Enjoy it! I certainly did.

Whitt, here are a couple books that just came out; "Sweat of the Sun, Tears of the Moon" by Capt. Syd Jones. When I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. Its one of those kind of books.
Another one is "Rainbow Chasers" by Tommy Gore.

Agreed, Pete. Rainbow Chasers was a great book!

Diving to a flash of gold, Marty Meylach. the best , most enjoyable treasure diver book you will ever read. It got me started in this business and started arelationship with Marty.

I'm almost finished with Goldfinder. Read it in two days. What an awesome book! Thanks for all of the great tips! Looks like I'll have lots of material for summer reading...

I recommend the following books (all authored by friends of mine):

Following the Lure of the Galleon Treasures - Journal of a Florida Treasure Hunter" by Ron Molinari

"Sweat of the Sun, Tears of the Moon" by Capt. Syd Jones.

"Treasure Diving With Captain Dom" by Yvonne Addario

I just ordered the Sinking of the Princess Sophia. They only had it in paperback.

Don, not a bad book, however, not as easy a read as Goldfinder...
