What type of places do you like to metal detect there in Utah?

Ghost towns, mining towns, parks, bottle dumps. Pretty much anything goes!

Hi. I'm from southern Utah. I'm about to buy a detector (still trying to figure out what I want). I'd be willing to go on some weekend excursions. I'm a total novice though. If you're looking for experienced detectors or good tips then I'd be no good! I'm currently looking for a reasonably priced detector specifically designed to find gold nuggets.
