NEED 1280X REPAIRED...IS FISHER STILL IN BUSINESS OR DID BOUNTY HUNTER BUY THEM OUT?

I have an older 1980's fisher 1280x and I love it...it has now power now...does anyone how to get to the electronics and how to get past the battery compartment. I do need a new battery holder as my connectors are bent. also does anyone know where to get the scematics on this or blueprint...I do have my original 1280x and just bought a backup one to have as an extra that needs help paid 100.00 with nice case and scoop...
