Hi all. Got out today in one of the parks in the area. Only found some clad and this compact. Every time I find one, I imagine it holding silver coins, lol. This was like the rest~~no coins! I got home and was about to toss it after showing it to the girlfriend, but when I scrubbed it a little bit with tap water and a toothbrush, I could see cursive writing on the back. I had to hold a flashlight so it would shine across the case. I can make out

Pretty cool to find this close to Mother's Day. If anyone recognizes the case, please chime in. The case is 3 1/2 x 3 1/2. The front has a jeweled butterfly. Not positive on metal composition. Any suggestions for cleaning would be appreciated too. If no one has any to offer, I may try electrolysis. Thanks for looking and any reply.

You probably know the park, Cjon. The one on 3rd Ave and Church St in Kingston.

Yep, I know it. I scouted a ton of parks in the area. I think I have diggers ADHD lol cause every time I try a park and dig pulltabs n canslaw I keep thinking man i gotta get outta here lol

Lol. Some days that little voice tells me to go get some clad! Parks are good to take the edge off the digging urge.

Absolutely, my clad pile isnt as big this year, ive been too stubborn parks r a good pressure free place that sometimes have hidden gems, heck last year I found a large cent and a silver roosie in kirby park of all places!

Now THAT is impressive! Kirby has to be the most hunted park in the area. I go there often myself.

I replied to that thread and mention a park in Nanticoke that gave me my only Merc, lol.

That is a neat looking compact, especially with the inscription, it's amazing what the old parks will occasionally give up. thanks for sharing!

You are certainly right. I had only hunted this park once before, but apparently I missed this. I am sure it had been in the ground several years.
