Nice digs . Thanks for the pics

sweet token

Beautiful token! Are the pictures of both sides? Are they the same?

Jub--help us out! Can't read the name of the mercantile company on the obverse. There has been extensive research done on these Ingle System tokens, so the location of yours should be easy to determine given that name. The Ingle company sold their "system" of bookkeeping to a lot of grocery, meat, and mercantile stores all over the country.

The name is Des Arc Mercantile. Des Arc is the town it was found in. The pics are of each side.

Love finding tokens. Haven't found any since early July though I found a few in June. July was my silver ring month I guess. I hope August is my gold month lol. Just hoping. Great token.

Thanks Don

That Token looks great , it must be better material than the ones from out here!

When I pulled it from the ground it had a rock hard layer of clay dirt stuck to it. I actually had to chip it off after soaking it for a few hours. I can only assume that's why it was so well preserved. It appears to be copper with some sort of shiny metal finish.

Sweet token find, congratulations!
