Hello to all..
I was having fun digging Wheaties tonight(found 8 in about an hour)..And got
a Strong signal about 4 inches deep...I knew it was bigger then a coin..But
dug it anyway..At first I thought I had found a pocket watch..Didn't try to
open it...Just stuck it in my pocket..Went maybe 20 feet..And it got the best of me..
I opened it ..and it was a compass...The only marking on it is the letters U.S.C.E..
I have no clue what they might mean...Over all I had a pretty good night....
No silver...But I only got maybe 1/4 of the yard done...Any suggestions on the marking..
Thanks and happy hunting to all...

I found out alittle info...Made between 1910 and 1920...

Hunter cased compasses:

The WWI era hunter cased Taylor compasses come
in a nickel case. The one exception is the brass
USCE compass which was issued to US Engineers.
