I was working an old homesite that has been around since the early 1800's. I dug a 1945 Quarter. After about an hour more of adding to my scrap copper/brass collection, I hit a nice mid range target. At 6 " deep I pulled a coin that I thought was either a lincoln or an indian. After giving it a wipe I saw it was a half decent 1867 (Nickel) 3 cent piece. Not sure of anyone else here, but this is only my first that I have ever pulled in over 20 years of detecting. Nice to mix it up a little..

Nice find... It's in pretty good shape too.. Thanks for sharing and congrats..

Great find! That is a hard one to nail for sure

Scouts out!

Very nice find! I've not found that one or the silver one yet.

A three center is an extremely tough coin find .

Very few hunters can say they found one .

Well Done :o

Yep. That's the thing I love about this hobby. That odd/unique coin that comes out just once in a blue moon. I do have one of each type and I remember exactly where each were found! They stay in my favorite memories! Another one is the Flying Eagle cent.

This is an exceptional find! Congrats!

HH!

thats pretty awesome!

That's definitely one that shows up only on a rare basis. I've been seriously hunting for 15+ years and just found my first one last fall. Very nice find!
