So today I found a neat buckle possibly from the civil war era, maybe of a some sort of horse harness or belt it’s about three inches long and looks like a eagle talon.
These are the rest of my finds today! Found a couple of shotgun head stamps, two buttons seems to be made of rubber and a strange copper ring maybe a civil war navy button not sure because the back shank was made of Iron, a hinge of of a dresser I suppose and a couple more buckles, marbles and modern change.
I concur but would put the items 1940-1960 or so. You can actually look up the headstamps to the shells, which a lot of times are newer than the rest of the items in the ground and get an accurate date on them. And if I got it right the Western Expert was made ca 1932-1964.
It’s definitely older then that, I cleaned it when I got home to see if there was any marking on it didn’t find anything so from what I’ve researched it is possibly from mid 1800s to the early 1900s I’m about 98% percent sure it’s a horse harness hook buckle but still not sure exactly how old it is.
