Metal Detecting
After mowing my yard I headed off to detect. The rain drove me home shortly, but I found two keepers before being driven out. I dug a Civil War transitional backmarked Bingham School button, (CSA Military Academy that trained many of the NC Junior Reserves 1861-1865). My other neat find was a huge bullet. I know nothing about it, other than the fact that it has no primer, it is painted red-white-blue, and it is 100% steel. It is pictured beside a 50BMG at the bottom. Thanks for reading, enjoy the pictures!

Turns out you guys were right! It is a World War II 20 mm dummy round! I took some sandpaper to the top and there it was, stamped into the top: CARTRIDGE DRILL 20MM
Thanks for the comments!
