Just HAD to find something old. So I hit the corn field with Bill for 2 hours today trudging thru the wet rows of corn and managed a couple small flat buttons, piece of a cufflink, a small buck shot, and this pristine 1864 2 cent piece! It's been a couple years since I found one of these!
Gorgeous! Mine came out looking like crap. It this is superb! I had to check to see if it was a small motto variant but it looks like it's a large motto. Awesome score!!

That marvelous example of vintage US coinage is why us crazies "trudge" through rows of corn and combat skeeters and sweat buckets! That one I reckon has gone very close to the top of your best recovered coins list. Congrats on a real beauty.
That is perhaps the finest example I have ever seen pulled from the ground. Dang that is a beautiful coin. Congrats on all the finds but that 2 cent piece is just insane.
