15th Annual North Carolina Gold Festival June 1,2, 2018
June 1 and 2, 2018 We will not be in Old Fort this year.It's Official! We're Bringing It Home to the NC Foundation Grounds and The Lucky Strike Gold and Gem Mine in Marion NC. Come and visit the location where miners have found gold for more than a century. This is a festival to celebrate our North Carolina "Golden" Heritage. Come out and learn the latest techniques. Step back in time and learn the fine art of gold panning in the river. Visit the many vendors that will be on hand with the latest in gold mining equipment. We will have a lapidarist on hand to demonstrate the fine art of gem faceting. Watch as we stamp a Vein Mountain Gold piece similar to the way the Becthler coin was stamped. We will also have a live band, smoked BBQ, nugget races, horse shoes, and much, much more. There will be free admission. All ages welcome!
