NC Few bullets and Spencer shells

Found these yesterday in an area we frequent in NC that had just recently been cleared of woods/thick undergrowth and is about to be turned in more fields. No one could get to that area, me and my dad went, hit it at a good time. 13 bullets, and 4 Spencer shells and a piece of the bottom of one. (Dad found 19 bullets and 2 Spencer shells)

Out of that one field we hunted yesterday thats all we found. In the nearby surrounding fields over the 30+ years on an off detecting my dad found a musket about 3ft deep, really rusted, some of the wood was still there and the buttplate. A friend of my dads found a confederate buckle right close to where we were yesterday, but that was back in the 80's when I was a kid. My dad use to own a piece of property in that area for a while but he had to sell it, he found a real nice Rifleman button worth about $1,500 on the land though. He's found a few other buttons but I cant remember what they were. He had a lot of civil war relics and ended up selling everything at the time some years ago to a guy that lives not too far from us.

I had the same thought as Mike, with all of those bullets there must've been some type of activity going on in the area.

Considering that these bullets were mostly found in what used to be 'the woods', they all look to be of similar date. So maybe target practice or CW action, strange that no buttons were found though.

Nice!!! Congrats!!! Those shell casings are hard to find in My area!!!
