I hope some body can give me an idea of what this is? I found it at a old 1820 home site. All it has on it is the old time anchor, nothing else i can see. Added a coin to compare with. Adding a silver dollar for size, Cant see it being a button,But that is way i am asking?

Yes, military and I think a pretty decent find but I can't recall what it is. I guarantee you will get it ID'ed though because I've seen the same thing posted twice before on relic forums. I also recall it is quite early too, but can't be 100% on that.

A naval cape clasp I think is a good possibility.
