Who here knows Zippo lighters? I have had this lighter for a few years. I used to use it before I quit smoking. It is factory painted in Grey. Underneath the paint is a nice brass. I used to pic at it a little with my fingernail thinking it would look much better if the paint were removed. But thinking about it now, it may be military. Can anyone date this Zippo?

I guess this ones solved. Its not as old as I thought. Could it be a military issue with the Gray paint?

No way were these ever issued...

Also - if they had any military conotation they would have had a seal or service type engraving... I think the color gray was just someone's choice.
