I was told the site where I found this was a military camp during World War Two where they trained dogs to identify submarines off the coast of North Carolina. I found plenty of coinage that falls into the era. I thought this was just a trash clip that came off something random, but looking closer there is an anchor stamped on the clip. I assume that would make it Navy issue? Camp Lejeune is close by. If anyone has any idea how to verify the submarine dog patrol, or if there were navy issue dog leashes that would be really cool. I havent been able to find anything for either.

The anchor is the trademark of the North & Judd Manufacturing Co. , which was founded in New Britain, Connecticut, in 1863. A good deal of information about North & Judd and their products can be found on the internet.
