Called ND at 0800hrs and no consensuses could be reached as to where to go so we didn't. Called him back at 0930hrs informing him we had not done Devil's Hill Battery in a while so off we went.

Well that was a treat as half the place was taken up by three ladies training their dogs to act like seals jumping over rails, going through hoops and barking on command. Of course Navy Davy and I got the courteous sniff and growl routine. Well mister man I have bigger bowel movements than those mutts. Anyway we dug to the background noise of these ladies barking commands at their dogs. ND scoffed a nice 1938 quarter. Shortly thereafter we moved on to another spot at which I predicted that one of us would find a ring. Not wrong may times when I get that feeling. True to my word ND found a ring with the word "Love" on it. Not silver nor gold but a cool find. Half an hour later we were on our way with quota in my pocket. Just a relaxing fun day considering I could barely get out of bed this morning. Standing for a 12 hour shift yesterday did me in. Felt sort of sorry for Navy Davy having to listen to my whines and grunts. Bouy is a trooper!
Navy Davy's pile.

Bluenoser's quota.

Very nice hunt Leslie. That battery looks to be about WWII era. Was that a Coastal Defense Battery?
