Looking for some info on these two buttons, the first one is a 2 piece button,I'm thinking naval because of the anchor but would like information on age of button, back mark says D EVANS &CO
AT?????FALLS, The 2nd button is a one piece and back mark says Standard colour, treble gilt. Both were found in Illinois.

Hello, I am not the button expert, but the D.Evans Company was in business from 1848-1945. It would be best if you could post a pic of the back of the buttons. Breezie

That first button is a U.S. Marine Corps button.

The second button, if military, which I can't say it is - resembles some early 1800 U.S. Navy buttons.

D EVANS & CO."ATTLEBORO MASS" is my guess...

The first button is a Marine button. Looks to be WWI period from the pic.
The second is a good button. It an 1812 or so Navy button. It is a bit rarer type as usually the eagle is sitting on the anchor. If it's cuff size I would say it's worth about $30 a coat maybe $100 or so. I would soak it in a 50/50 mix of water and lemon juice for a bit. But don't leave it in to long though. brush it with a soft tooth brush and if it's not clean soak it again. Just be sure not to over clean it. Good Find

I can't tell from the pic but if the marine button has black enamel or traces of it, it is WWI period. I can't make out the back mark but if It's D Evans it will be Attleboro Mass or North Attleboro Falls. That button looks to be post 1900 and if not WWI is probably later

Your 16 star Navy button doesn't seem to match exactly any examples listed in Albert's. Although it comes closest to the 16 star NA 81 Bv, the angles of the flukes are different and your's has the tip of the wing turned in. The other possibility would have been the 16 star NA 81 A, but the stock on your's extends farther then the joint of the left wing to just below the peak of the wing. You may have an unlisted variety.

That thing came out nice. I couldn't find an exact match in any of my books but there are so many varients of some of the buttons they can't all be listed.
