Navy Button???

Well, here I am going "to the mountain" again trying to get all of your knowledge as to what I uncovered.....I do know the land that this was found in was owned by a WW II Navy veteran, but I don't know if this is off a uniform or not. It looks like a signal corps type insignia, but being a Air Force veteran from the 'Nam era, I haven't a clue......It is very thin and registered silver....Any thoughts would be appreciated......Thanks as always,,,,,,,Goadster from Dayton
