Got out today for a quick hunt in a old farm field from 1877 plat map, located house site and found this button, Navy? Anyone able to share info on age? This is my first button with an anchor. Being in Wisconsin not alot of Navy activity. Also found a 1892 IHC. Thanks and happy hunting.

Nice!!!! Congrats!!!!

Thanks for the info, tried to clean the back with little sucess.

Some people can date a button by the front. I am not one of those people. The backmark would, in my opinion be the key to dating it. Can you get anything off the back?

Very nice button. I dug and posted a similar one very recently. Any sign of gilt on yours or any backmark? Great find regardless. Congrats!
