Navy button?

dug this button up in a Mexican soccer field beside an old 1899 school building that has been torn down for the future location of the high school football field.....the eagle is facing right with 13 stars...holding an anchor which is horizontal with 3 dots underneath....didnt have a back on it and the penny is for size reference...thanks for any info

i think the 3 dots are cannon balls,and the anchor is for marines,not positive just what i think i read before ,or navy ,sorry i dont know much about it

It is very similar in design to some Civil War era Union Navy buttons - but not exactly. May be a later version. Still pretty cool.

I've dug 3 varietys of your button It is a Navy and i was told it dates
from the Spanish American War to WWI
BTW The eagle is looking to the left ;) HH
