Navy Button Real or Fake

If a navy button is very rusted does that mean it is fake and is a blazer button or could it be real?

The answer to your question depends on the button's size. Relic hunters have dug a few US Navy kepi-hat size (13-to-15mm) buttons which had/have an iron back. If your "very rusted" button's size isn't 13-to-15mm, it is almost 100%-certain to be a Civilian-clothing imitation of an actual US Navy button.
