I only went out for an hour and a half this morning but I found what looks to be a two-piece navy button! My guess is 1840s-60s but I don't know anything about buttons so I'll wait for the experts to chime in. I found a similar one here: Shiloh Civil War Relics*Catalog but there are a few differences in the wing shape and other things like that that put the possibility of it being some sort of fashion button into my mind. If you've read any of my other threads this is from my site at the orchard where I found an 1820 largie last week (my new oldest coin)! Thanks for looking and HH!

I just realized I didn't include anything for scale in the pics so I'll add that soon. Also, the images are at highest resolution, I know that's caused problems in the past but I'm just going to try it.

Thanks Steve! I assumed it was Navy bc the Eagle holding the anchor but I don't have a marines button yet so I guess that works out pretty fine!
