DMCll with auto tune but it’s not a 2b,5 knobs no high low switch and four 9v batteries,Plugged in a 15” coil and turned on and nothing I have good batteries I checked voltage it’s around 18v,I checked voltage at the on-off switch 18v,it was working perfectly fine a few seconds before switching coils now it’s dead not a sound even with the coil I had just removed and was working fine before that ,any help would be appreciated

DizzyDigger. Moved from HELP to METAL DETECTING.
 

First Visually check that a pin in the control box plug didn't pull out/break off and get stuck in the connector of the good coil when you unplugged it. if the connector looks fine, I would then compare coils using an Ohmmeter. If they test the same, next I would remove the batteries, open the control box and look for a broken wire in general, but specifically on the coil connector since the failure occurred when changing coils.

In the event the coils didn't test the same, you might have a broken/shorted wire in the coil connector of the 15" coil which in turn might have smoked the final output of the detector.
