[NEMO] Large Sea Sifter!

PVC pipe with Stainless Steel mesh with reinforced Stainless Steel wire and grab handles to sift the sand away from your
treasure! Includes a teather to attach to your wrist or belt, and a mesh bag to collect your treasure! Great for metal detecting, beach combing or treasure hunting. (Shells and shark teeth NOT included) Works great in both fresh water
and salt water!
These are nice big Sea Sifters. Outside measurement of the PVC is appoximately 18" X 14". Weight is around 4 pounds.
The holes are appox 1/4" (4 Mesh) Smaller we found that it's hard to clear the sand. Larger, we found that you may lose something. (Especially like a gold chain.)
The basket is 14 3/4" X 10 3/4" Top, 12 1/4" x 8" Base & 2" Deep, not including the handles. All Stainless steel. The handles make it very easy to sift, especially if you are in the water. Wet sand is very hard to sift.
With the PVC pipe, it's sets in the water, not on top, but not completely submergered either. The PVC is 1 1/2" ID - 1 7/8" OD PVC. We double glue the joints to asure that there are no leaks. We assmeble the PVC using PVC glue, then when that's dry,
we go around each joint with Super Glue to make sure it's water tight. (Can you tell I'm anal!)
Finally, we double spray the PVC. Once with white Primer and then with flat white paint, both made for plastic. (Just so you don't see the 'Charlotte Pipe & Foundry' pink writing all over it.)
We could then easily put 1/2 the zip ties we use, but we built this first for our use. Then, we make sure all the end of the zip ties are cut off and tucked in to prevent any problem from someone handling the sifters.
Finally, we throw it in the pool just for safe measure!
The mesh bag is about 9" X 4 1/2", and the lanyard/teather is about 4' long.
Some of the PVC frames do have different corners on them, same size, different construction. This was a weight reduction later in the product run. Does not affect performance.
