Thanx for the reply TGR,, I was thinking/googling Clam,,not mussell. I guess thats why I couldnt find a pic. So thank you,,thank you,, uh Thank you very much ;D I still think its pretty.
 

tncreeker, keep in mind that just because this Shell wasn't an artifact doesn't mean that all Shells aren't. Some cultures did use these for Hoes and Spoons. The Hoes are usually a little bigger than the one you pictured and they will have a big hole towards the thickest end.

These two in this picture are Shell Hoes.

tn, I agree with what TGR said. We also find shells that were worn as ornaments or decorations. These photos show one that had a hole drilled through the center.

Very interesting,,thanx for the photos you guys. Good eye on that drilled shell T Witko,,not sure that I would have noticed that. I hadnt realy thought of looking for shells before, I`ll keep my eyes open for sure now. If you aint lookin,,,,you aint findin.
