I found this around the area where I find copper culture artifacts. I'm not sure if it's a piece of native copper or not. I sawed a piece off with a chop saw to see what's inside.

I'm no expert, but I would say yes. & it is a lovely piece. I love the cut end. It is amazing!

Yes it's Canadian copper from the Lake Superior/Michipicoten area. I used a chop saw for cutting metal and went slow.....worked fine. This one came from the same place.

Nope not out of a mine....bank of a river. There is a on old copper mine about 50 miles away on a island in Lake Superior, I would assume the natives moved them from there to the river near where they camped and worked them from there.

That is gorgeous! It would make a beautiful display piece of you could cut some thin (1/4-1/2") segments! I'd buy one I know!
