Where do you see the obvious flint knapping? Maybe show a better picture. Looks like a natural rock.

Is it reasonably flat on top? If it is, the rock may have been used as a "grinding platform", "nutting stone", whatever.

Not all rock was altered for use. Why fix what ain't broke.

Cool rock. I have several very similar to yours. Did you figure out the material? It looks hard to me. Not shale probably.

In that case, I’ve got a creek full of unworked, golf ball sized rocks. They were probably used by prehistoric people to throw at rabbits. Why work them when they are fine as they are?
That makes them artifacts, right?
Wrong. The work had to be apparent. Otherwise we’re guessing that maybe this rock was used.We have to draw the line somewhere.

Be advised, those who have been identifying genuine artifacts for decades are a difficult crowd to convince when a rock has no visibly worked surfaces.
