Hunting dry sand last night I came up with this really interesting ring. There are no markings, wondering if anyone would know about the maker / tribe or the meaning of the design?

Putting a name to it would be very difficult as the feather design was/is a popular motif. I can tell you that it appears to be a Navajo made ring.

there is a database of Native tribe marks that includes initials and symbols.

Amazing find great for your display case Thanks for the post!!!

Pretty ring!! Would love to find some jewerlry with turquoise. Hope you can get a time frame and positive ID.
Congrats!!

Jewelry not made for sale is not required by law to be marked, jewelry made for sale is required to be marked. Therefore it is likely somebody's jewelry class project, and likely not NA made at all, just made in an NA style.

I agree with diggummup, looks like Navajo to me. I wear one similar that I bought in Arizona a couple of years ago. Nice find.

I respectfully disagree. This is without a doubt a Navajo made piece in my opinion. I have an interest in and a small collection of Southwestern and Native American jewelry and have had many pieces go through my hands over the years. Most of the older Native American made pieces are unmarked. Sometimes you will find hand scribed signatures on pieces too, like this on a squash blossom necklace that I sold several months ago-

Here is my latest, a matching set that I found last month for a song-
