Good Morning all!

I recently came across two of these markers along w/ stacked stones around the markers. We are thinking they are related to Native American religion. These markers are carved and were found in Luzerne county Pennsylvania. If anyone can please help with these I would greatly appreciate it. I am heading there again tonight to Metal detect to see if I can come up with any relics. Let me know what you think!

Super Cool :icon_thumleft: :icon_thumleft: They look eerily similar to the marker stones in a Cherokee cemetery I saw while down a trip on the Buffalo River in Tennessee.

I don't know about the one with a hole in the center, but the one with brown bits looks to be a conglomerate where the brown bits were left on a mud flat or whatever it was to become rock together. It does appear that the brown bits are harder than the host rock. Are there brown bits on the back also? I'll bet there are. The difference in hardness causes them to be eroded differently, and can make them look carved. In fact, it looks like some of the bits have fallen out? I wish I was there to see it first hand.

They are interesting but have to agree with you as being a natural occurrence in geology.. the one with the hole does appear to have been ground into it.. It hard to say without a closer look..

Interesting find ...
WELCOME TO THE TREASURENET FAMILY !!

Sorry, doesnt look like much to me.
Could be stones kids stacked in the woods. :dontknow:
