I have recently began kayaking the Buffalo River, TN in Perry county. I pick up stones that catch my eye. This one appeared to be shaped like a bird's head with images of human faces carved in it. None of my friends concur. I googled bird head + faces right off the bat. Results were bird stone and effigy rock. Also, I saw images of dog and human heads on the reverse side of the stone. Any insight would be appreciated.

That's neat looking! I think, though, that it is natural.

Welcome to Tnet.

Interesting looking natural stone, I see no carving or man made alterations.

It is natural stone, not an artifact.
