I found this at a local antique store and really didn't know anything about it. Across the top arch, it says "NATIONAL SAENGER". The four banners on each side provides the dates, (21TES,
JUN 13, and JUL15). One of the banners also says "FEST" on it. Below the lyre is the date 1906, and below that and above the portrait is "NEWARK. N.J." The portrait in the circle is Josef Haydn, whose name is written along the curve inside the circle. I know the basic history of the festival, but would appreciate more information, and what purpose the medal served.
Thanks,
Dihren
