Nate .... another "newbie"
HELLO PEEPS!!!
Maybe I'm not a true newbie, but I'm a newbie on HERE anyway!
A little about me:
I was addicted to metal detecting since I was abour 12 or so. Bought my first detector for $250 back in the mid 80's.... and it took a LONG time to save up that kind of money. Did that everywhere I could and found a lot of interesting things back in the day.
Joined the Navy and still had a passion for it, but found it hard to break away to go. Upgraded to a GTA1000, and found even better stuff with all my years of experience and "intuition" as it were. Then, for whatever reason (life), I just quit doing it after I was discharged in 98.
But you can't keep a good man down!
I have 2 kids now, and my son is 11.... old enough to get grubby fingers! I bought him an Ace250 and also got an MXT for myself. This should be good enough to break us both back in. Currently I'm in the Middle East supporting this whole "Iraqi Freedom" thing, but will be home for a short period of time and will get reacquainted with this hobby I love so much. Hopefully my son will take to it just like I did when I was his age.
I've been enjoying this great website for a while now and feel like this is one of the BEST places online to really pick some brains. I'm constantly learning some new things every day, and I don't think that one ever really learns it all. Thanks to all for the warm reception.......
