Nasty Finds & Gold with Minelab's New 11 inch Pro Coil ---
The last couple of weeks have been tough in Southern Colorado; nothing fantastic to report. SOOOO, I didn't.
Here's a few pictures of some of my better finds less the junk.
Today, I received my Minelab 11 inch Pro series coil; nice!
It's rock steady; allowing me to crank SENS up to 32 Max. Very sensitive! I deliberately hunted a hunted out area. I've hunted this partiicular spot no less than a dozen times in the past; using various size/manu. coils. I must admit, Minelab has a winner with this new coil! PinPointing is eeeesy. Depth is amazzzzzing! I found a little 10k gold ring not 4 inch under. Would my other coils find it? Obviously not. The coil reminds me of my Platypus coil but deeper. I also found a 1907 IH "UNDER A PULLTAB down 8 to 10 inches" The only other notable find was the gold plated hat pin. It had glue on it; I know there's more in the hole. I'll go back, taking some dirt, bringing home the original dirt, and find whatever was attached to it.
A criticism of Minelab's new coil; okay, two.
The coil's cord is too short and the coil cover is a joke. With beveled edges, dirt falls right in! I actually took the time, laying the coil flat, running a run of electrical tape around the outside perimeter, overlapping 4 inches or so. I do this to all my coils. Be sure, if you can to prime/clean first with rubbing alcohol; nothing stronger.
I managed to find 3 tokens over the last several weeks; none worth nothing.
The DANMARK 25 Ore is cool; found on a football field.
