As for the medalion. Naploleon commissioned hundreds of medals to be struck to mark the course of his reign. There are literally whole books on the subject. Your medal appears to be some version of one representing the battle of Lutzen, albeit yours is either very worn or just a bad representation. Here is a medal similar to yours-
