These are some finds from my last three hunts...
The hunt for last week DiggerBug and I went to a local school and spent a couple of hours hunting. The ground is so hard here that when you do finally get the dried up grass to let go of the cement like dirt, it takes 10 minutes to dig a two inch hole! :P Well, being that digging was so difficult I decided to be a bit more picky about what I was digging so as to not tire so quickly. Got a really great beep and it wasn't five inches, so I decided to dig! Oh my gosh! A little sparkly diamond looking at me from the dust that was still flying from diggin that hole! I was so excited!!! Till I got it out of the hole and saw that the backside of the ring looked as if it were plated. Ended up with the ring, a broken chain, some change and two wheats.
Next hunt DiggerBug and I went to a skating rink in Morris. Dang it was hot and dang dry too. Only one shade tree to be found on the entire premises and after about 30 minutes Lisa and I found ourselves under that tree and ready to go!
Found the usual clad and a wheat...1955.
We then went to a park in Warrior that has a few more shade trees and suffered through 95 degree heat only to come out with some change and an odd bat ring. (Thought that one was silver, but no marks anywhere on it)
I went to the button site for a couple of hours and found a buckle and a 1916 wheat.
Anyone have any ideas as to how old this buckle might be?
Hope you all have a GREAT weekend!!!
