The wife and I are new to the forum, just saying hello. It might be a late start here in Idaho, better late than never right?. We just picked up a Garrett pro-AT pinpointer to use with our Fisher Gold bug Pro along with the Garrett Z-link wireless head phones. Looking for places to detect around Nampa, ID. Really don't want to get a infraction, any ideas??

Welcome Aboard! Take a look at Sub-Forums: Idaho for information (i.e., clubs, etc.) directly related to your state.

Welcome to Tnet Nampa folks, from a bit West of you--Central Oregon. Get up into the Sawtooth Mountains to find Gold, I found plenty there.

Well thank you for the advice, I'm a driver and head to Salomon once a month for an overnight trip. Any words of wisdom as to a good starting place? Thank you in advance for your time.

Gotta love the beach, and I really enjoy the sand scoop. So easy to use.

Welcome to the forum from Virginia! Before you hunt, check the local laws for the area on line. Most town and cities have websites with laws and do's and don't s listed. Research during the winter down times, gain permission on private property and so on. Read a lot of the threads on here when you can to see what others have found or run into. As vpnavy suggested, check the section for your state for any clubs or groups for help and hunts. Good luck and happy hunting!

Hello and welcome from a fellow Nampian....Namponian....Nampon....hmmm, not quite sure what to call us. haha.

As I'm sure you know, we have TONS of old mining camps and towns all around us. I'm not sure on the legality of hunting some of these sites but I am hoping to get my first detector soon so I can join the fun as well.

Hmm, you are very close to the "Snake River Stampede" which would be a good place to go off season.
