Greetings! I'm new to the forum, but have owned a Garrett MD for several years..........have added a few rings, wheaties, etc., to my collection....kinda got away from MD'ing the last couple years, but hope to get busy again when weather permits....being from South Dakota, we still have a few weeks to go :D Anyway, looking forward to lurking here and learning a few good pointers...I'm 66 years old, but never too old to learn!

Welcome to the forum , Its good to get out and detect, keeps you loosened up so when you do get old in about 20 years you will still be limber enough to swing one. What type of Garrett do you have? Do you coin shoot or relic hunt?i am just getting back into the hobby after a long break. I hope to go over some old homesites that I searched many years ago with older detectors that don't do as well as some of the newer ones. Post your finds and let us know how you are doing. Good Luck Bob

;DHope I'm still limber 20 years from now.........I have a Garrett GTAx1000.....probably outdated by now, but still fun to hunt.....I've been looking mostly for coins, altho once in a while I get in a trash mood and dig everything......you just never know, ya know.....I had pretty good luck at a school yard just across the street from me....I don't think anyone had been there before, so it was a good place to start.....

:D Don't worry about your age. This forum has members in all age groups. Even a few that are real relics in their own right. ;) ;) ;D

Thanks for all the kind words from everyone! We just got 4+ inches of snow again, so it looks like it will be a few days or weeks before I can do any MD'ing :D

Hey Dakota Digger...welcome to the forum.Good luck to you on your hunts this season although I know sometimes it seems it will never get here. Mother nature can play some cruel tricks sometimes, especialy in the spring. Glad to hear your getting back into the swing of things...swinging that Garrett. HH!
