Found this next to an old cellar hole today about 10 inches down. On back it says [ N.Snellenburg & Co,Phila.]Would like any imformation on this button.

These folks were late 1800s clothiers... probably a button from their clothing line sporting what looks like a music based design.

The correct orientation of the monogram would be as shown below, with "Co." (company) at the center— U T Co.

It's a uniform button originally worn by employees of the Union Traction Company, a trolley line operating in Philadelphia, PA from 1895 to 1902.

According to Van Court, the same design was later used by the Union Transportation Company, which operated in New Jersey from the late 1800's until 1931.

If it's a coat-size button, it's worth around $6-8; cuff, $2-3.
