Hi all,

I picked up a first edition of C.M. Skinner's "Myths and Legends of Our Own Land" a while back from a book dealer(a treasure in itself in my opinion).
Anyway these books have a short section dedicated to Treasure myths and legends of America, and it's a pretty interesting read in general. This book is available in its entirety for all to peruse through project Gutenberg. http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/6615. The section about treasure legends is entitled "As to Buried Riches" and occurs near the end of the book.

Enjoy!

Hi Leeway,

You are correct. This book is a great read ! While it is somewhat dated, it has many stories of ghosts ,Indian Legends, Colonial Legends, pirate stories, treasures etc.

And you can Download it free from gutenberg

Take Care,
Mike in SC
