I have a very decorated wood carved item that i believe to be some sort of textile tool. need help figuring out the origin and use of this object. its 30 inches in length and 22 inches in height. the part that looks like a spool slides off. the object comes apart into four separate pieces, no screws or nails just slides out of joints cut into the wood. I think your right as it was some kind of textile implement or spinning wheel drum device looking thing? . I can't find one like it and now believe it may have never been intended to be a functional item, but more of a decorative, fantasy item made for the import market.
