Mystery 'UNITED STATES' Artillery button SOLVED!!!
Greetings all,
A big green check on an earlier post about a 19th Century Artillery Button, which had no back mark other than 'United States',
Many Thanks to Mr Leigh for providing this information.
Good Day & Great Digs to All, Herbie.
Hello Mr. Robinson, this is a Seminole Indian War Era U. S. Artillery button. it dates to the 1830's, has a retail value of approximately $25 in this condition, and is believed to have been made by the R & W. Robinson (name sake?) Company of Attleboro, Mass.
Kind regards,
William Leigh www.civilwarbuttons.com
