I found this in a back room of an old timers antiques shop.. no tag, no description. He didn't really know what it was either so he gave it to me for free.

What I do know: It's missing an attachment that would have slipped onto the end of the shaft. When you crank the handle, the shaft turns about 180° then starts back the other way about 45° then 180° the other way and so on.

Snake, mixer, hole reamer, drill?.. There are no markings, no patent #, company name etc.

I figured someone here may know what it is. Thanks! :blackbeard:

i think it's a valve lapping tool

Yes, a valve lapping tool, for use on gasoline engines. It would have had a suction cup on the end to grip the valve.
