Found this out behind one of the old buildings on my property.

It is about 30 inches long, has a flat blade like end (less than 1/8" thick) and the rod is 1/2" diameter. At the opposite end is a welded on loop. Kinda looks like a cross between a tire iron (not rugged enough for that) and a shoe horn (too rugged for that). Any ideas what it might be? Tool or something else?

I looks like a sort-of pneumatic tire/inner tube tool.

Thats kinda what I thought too, but isn't heavy duty enough like tire irons I have used in the past, unless it would possibly be for something lighter duty like a bicycle tire, but then it seems like overkill for that. It is what it looks like though.

A lot of the old Model A and T axles got turned into pry bars as they could be easily worked. I have 2 or 3 that my grandpa made.

Very intriguing!
Is there any wear-spots, indicating use, in a particular way...?

There is some wear on the flat end as well as being slightly bent or misshapen.

This was found out behind an old steam bath house located by a pond, where water was pumped from the pond to a furnace to make steam for a sauna sometime between 1900-1950. Dont know whether or not that has any bearing on what it may have been used for or not.
