Dug this earlier. It has good weight to it

After some cleaning, it has leaves and vines around the perimeter
I've been soaking it in water and light cleaning with a soft brush, just in case

Any ideas? Thanks and HH all
 

Looks like the bent hook part once went to the back side. Maybe it's a 19th century brooch? Good find regardless! [emoji2]

Thanks for the starting point to search. I think you nailed it. I was curious to the s shaped clasp. It looks bent over from this reference pic

YOU KNOW RICHARDSON I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT WHEN YOU GET IT CLEANED UP .THEY REALLY HAD AN IMAGINATION BACK THEN FOR THESE NEAT DESIGNS,VANZUTPHEN
